Rock Season Prep: Technical Manuals!

IMG_1912.JPG

Recognize these booklets?

They’re attached to… every… single… piece… of rock climbing gear that we buy.

Just silly fine print? No way!

IMG_1913.JPG

They contain critical info on:

-how to use your gear ✔️

-how NOT to use your gear ☠️

-how to inspect, maintain, transport, and store your gear 🧐

-much more!

Just like climbing fitness, climbing skills and knowledge needs to be trained regularly to keep them in shape 🧗‍♂️!

So, as we wait for this rock season to begin, let’s take a minute to re-read our user manuals and refresh some of your climbing knowledge!

Bonus Guide Tips:

-(Above pic): Write the date of manufacture and serial number on booklets so you can check your gear during product recalls and so you still have it when it rubs off your gear!

-(Below pic): If you lost or tossed your user manuals then visit the manufacturer’s website to download fresh copies!

-Store one booklet per gear type in your gear closet so it’s ready when you need it.

Anyone remember (below pic) ...

-why we must NEVER climb above our PAS/sling tether (even a couple feet)?

-why we must ALWAYS untwist our quickdraw slings before we clip a rope to them?

If you have any questions about what you see in your user manuals then let us know!

So much fun, right? 🤪
